bad blogger

Well...I've only been a blogger for a week now and already I'm a bad blogger! So sorry. We've been home with sick kids. Sydney is still home today with a fever so once again, I'm making arrangements to find a way to get in to work.

We did celebrate her birthday over the weekend though. I can't believe that she's 9 already. Where does the time go? I did make her a cute party hat, a shirt with a "9" on it, cake and I also decorated her bathroom mirror on Friday morning. She also had fun doing a little scavenger hunt for her gifts from us. Even though she was disappointed that some of her cousins couldn't come to her party, (because she still had a fever) she had a great birthday. Now we just need for her to get back to school so she can celebrate her birthday with her class!

Chicago Weekend

Bright and early Sunday morning. Our three...

Mom & Carl came for the weekend too.

We went to Chicago a weelend ago to see my brother and sister-in-law, Dennis & Sharon. We usually try and get there in the fall, but it has become much more difficult to fit in as the kids get older. In between soccer games, football games, Sunday School lessons to teach, school field trips, etc.--it is difficult, but we still like to make it a priority. We left early Saturday morning and we made it there by breakfast time.

We went to Trader Joe's (a favorite stop) and Marshall's--and then we mysteriously ran out of time before heading to my nephew, Chase's football playoff game. It was a great game and they won in overtime. We'll have to find out how they did this past Saturday too.

As usual, the kids had a fun time playing with their cousins. Sydney was a bit teary-eyed when we were leaving and Avery's tummy didn't feel quite right. Well, she ended up throwing up while we stopped to eat at Wendy's on the way home. Yuck. She ended up having to miss school Monday-Wednesday since shortly thereafter she began running a fever. So far, Lucas & Sydney complained of some stomach aches, but no other symptoms. Maybe the rest of us escaped the sickness?
Well...here it goes. My entrance to blogging. I've been thinking about it for years and envisioning when I would find the time...and I finally decided to just jump right in.
